Liberal Democrat Parliamentary Spokesperson for Streatham Chris Nicholson has slammed Lambeth Council for their failure to enforce laws against dog fouling on public footpaths.
"Time and time again residents raise with me the health hazards caused by dog fouling on public footpaths. Residents in roads which lead to parks, like Barcombe Avenue in Streatham Hill and Drewstead Rd in Streatham are particularly badly affected. But Lambeth Council are doing nothing to enforce the laws against dog fouling." commented Chris.
Chris added "This year and last year there have been no fines against people for letting their dogs foul public footpaths. The current Labour administration of the Council do not see this as a problem. But for many residents walking down the road is a real obstacle course as they try to avoid the dog mess. It is about time that Lambeth enforced the laws against dog fouling"
