Even more Lambeth families are waiting for a home, whilst Lambeth leaves over a thousand houses empty -figures obtained by Liberal Democrat Parliamentary Spokesperson for Streatham Chris Nicholson have revealed. The figures obtained from the Department of Communities and Local Government have shown that the number of households on Lambeth's waiting list has grown steadily since Labour took control of Lambeth Council in 2006 and in the last year alone has jumped by almost 1,000 to 15,473. This is at a time when over 1000 council houses are being left empty by Labour Lambeth.
Chris commented, "This is yet another appalling example of Labour's incompetence in running housing in Lambeth. Whilst more and more families are waiting for a decent home Lambeth Council have left over a thousand houses empty and are selling off others at auction. Families want homes, not excuses, from Lambeth Council."
