Chris Nicholson is calling for an urgent meeting with Royal Mail bosses about the continuing poor service provided to local residents in the Streatham constituency which covers Streatham and parts of Clapham, Brixton and Balham.

At a meeting with Tesco last Friday (February 12th), just two days after they had failed to turn up to the public meeting to discuss the Streatham Hub development, Chris Nicholson, Liberal Democrat Parliamentary Candidate for Streatham, told the company that keeping the ice rink open whilst a new one is built is "non-negotiable" for the local community.

Chris launches Lib Dem plans for policing in Streatham, Brixton and Clapham

Liberal Democrats in Streatham have today set out their General Election plans to put more police on the beat. The extra officers for the local area will be funded by the savings from scrapping ID cards, and are part of the Liberal Democrats' Safer Streets - More and Better Police manifesto commitment, which was launched last week.

Massive delays in Clapham Park redevelopment causes misery for residents

The Clapham Park estate redevelopment programme is being hit by massive delays of six years or more. In letters sent to some residents over Christmas, Clapham Park Homes revealed that some tenants and leaseholders will have to wait at least a further six years before they will get decent homes. Residents of Bowie Close and Moberly Rd had been told only last year that their homes would be demolished and that they would be rehoused this year (2010). But now they are being told they will have to wait till 2016 or beyond.

Chris signs Tuition Fees Pledge

Chris Nicholson, Liberal Democrat Parliamentary Candidate for Streatham, Brixton and Clapham, has signed the National Union of Students' (NUS) Funding Our Future Pledge, promising not to raise university tuition fees and instead to seek out fairer funding alternatives.
