Early Life

Chris Nicholson, 49, grew up in Manchester's inner-city Moss side area before leaving for Cambridge University where he studied economics. After graduating he moved to London to live and work.

Political Success

Chris first became involved in London politics while in Kingston, where he stood successfully as a local councillor. When he was just 28 he became the first ever Liberal leader of Kingston Council.

Following three successful re-elections as a councillor, he stood down from Kingston Council in order to concentrate on work and his family that includes 3 step children and 4 adopted children.

Expertise

He is an acknowledged expert on public sector policy, and has advised successive Governments, Ministers and Civil Servants. Chris has also acted as a special advisor to Parliamentary Select Committees.

Local

He lives in the Streatham constituency and works in central London as a partner at one of the big four accounting firms. He often commutes to work via bicycle to avoid the overcrowded trains!

Chris is a member of All Nations Baptist Church, Clapham Park, and a board member of a drug rehabilitation charity.
